Hand-Spun Happiness

Currently, I am working on hand-spun yarn. I want to plant dye these yarns. I think I am going to choose primary colors. I brought about five pounds worth of wool. I really like the merino wool, which is super plush and soft. The angora hair has extremely long hair, which is perfect for spinning. Spinning is one of those things that allows an individual the opportunity to meditate and contemplate. Today I spun and I spun and I was thinking about all different things that happened today. I am quite surprise at how much spinning can be done and how much brainstorming a person can do while spinning.

I would like to encourage anyone that is thinking about spinning wool to give it a try and who knows maybe they will be able to find their own sort of happiness or self-fulfillment. Trust me spinning is very soothing and therapeutic!

Back to Basics

Sitting on top of a list things that seem so insurmountable....I'm starting to feel reality again. I just feel a little discourage but I am not going to give up (I spent a lot of money gulp)! I know that I can do this even through it seems impossible. For instance my saving grace in the website is all thanks to my sister's boyfriend! I can't even begin to thank him enough for my literal incompetence with creating my own website. Also marketing work is very difficult...balancing how much am I willing to spend on those little ads you see on google. Those cost as much as your willing to pay. In addition, facebook ads cost a pretty penny. I told myself that I will hold off on the marketing until someone, anyone, anybody is willing to buy my products.

On a lighter note...I have been working on my Spring theme catalog!
Think silk scarfs, flowy dresses, and pastels pastels pastels...I hope it turns out wonderful as I envision it!

Updates...
the website nrartisan.com is up!

Inspirational Retreat

Last weekend I went on a day trip to Redding, Shasta, and Burney Falls region in Northern California. I believe Oregon was not far away. I went on this trip for fun and leisure! I was surprised to see so much breathtaking beauty. I hope these photos inspires you to view the nature around you differently. After this visit I try to take the time to smell the flowers and breath the air! (Just take the time to notice the little things in life.) The drive was two hours in excruciating heat. Also finding rest stops and "use-able" toilets were a challenge but this was well worth the trip.

 Lovely Burney Falls
 Hello COWS! mOOOO
I love the mountain range, skyscape, and the lake!
 flowin' river
 breathtaking...eh?
 the trees are very TALL!
 FAMOUS sundial bridge
harp in the sky

updates...
I haven't really done much work for a while but after this trip I gained a LOT of inspiration.
Those purples, blues, violets, and mauve shades really are comforting colors.
Who knows maybe I'll try to get some items in these shades.
Also I am planning on getting some hand made custom leather shoes for women and children. (tell me what you think?)

trying to turn a frown upside down...

Should posting a website take this long? I always considered myself tech savy and quite knowledgeable of computer things. It seems that building a website is much MUCH MUCH harder! I have been using program Web Easy Professional 8. I do not care for this website program because of the limited website templates. I made my own template, which took more time but I found out only when I was about to upload the website that I have to use their uploading program. (Sigh*** ) I am frustrated at all these little problems that I am running into. I purchased Dreamweaver, which is the program I should have used. Well I am going to see how well this goes but until then I hope to make much more creations and post them here!

Hello World!

Hello world, this is Naturally Radiant Artisan! I am excited with the anticipation of our new products and designs for our fall line. Many people wonder why the products are expensive or even why I stress the importance of quality natural material. The main reason the products are expensive is because we believe in fair trade. In addition, I believe quality material is an essential part of “Naturally Radiant Artisan” fashion. Our focus is to utilize natural materials that are sustainable to the environment.

Updates…
Today is our first photo shoot, which will hopefully give everyone a visual of my company.  Hopefully (crossing my fingers) the website will be up by the end of the week!
